An entrepreneur and energy executive with more than three decades of experience in energy development, Adam Victor currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of TransGas Development Systems, LLC, in New York City. Commanding a long and impressive career in the oil and gas, coal, and mining industries, Adam Victor laid the educative foundation for his profession as an undergraduate at Cornell University. From 1970 through 1974, Adam Victor studied all facets of mechanical engineering and the materials sciences at Cornell, earning selection to the dean’s list for his academic performance.
Graduating from Cornell with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Adam Victor soon secured a role with Saudi Aramco as a Drilling Engineer, serving as a company representative on various oil rigs. After some time in this position, Adam Victor returned to the United States and entered into graduate studies at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, spending the next two years immersed in international finance and strategic planning. During this time, Adam Victor completed a summer internship with Gulf Oil, where he gained firsthand experience in solar technology development. Following receipt of his Master of Business Administration from Wharton in May 1978, Adam Victor entered the field of mining and natural resources, working as a Metallurgical Engineer for such firms as Lonrho Mining Company and Anglo American, PLC. In 1980, Adam Victor founded Gas Alternative Systems, through which he consulted and led development on a wide range of power plant projects in New York and California. Among his more notable achievements, Adam Victor built the Project Orange cogeneration power plant in Syracuse, which provided steam and electricity to residents in the United States and Canada.
Since 2005, Adam Victor has overseen operations at TransGas Development Systems, LLC, where he focuses his time and energy on a variety of coal gasification and energy development projects.
